Student Insurance and Medical Claims

Manchester Public Schools provides optional student accident medical insurance to help cover injuries that occur during school-related activities. This coverage is designed to supplement your family's primary health insurance and assist with medical expenses from accidents on school grounds, during athletic events, field trips, or other sponsored activities.

Note: This is voluntary coverage and not required for enrollment. Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing the brochure and deciding if it meets their needs. Claims are filed directly with the insurance provider.

Important Resources

The brochure includes full details on coverage, exclusions, claim procedures, and how to file a claim. Download and review it carefully. For questions about the policy, contact the insurance provider listed in the brochure.

Filing a Claim

If your student is injured during a school-related activity and you have purchased the optional student accident insurance:

  1. Obtain a claim form from the brochure or the insurance provider.
  2. Complete the form with details of the incident and medical treatment.
  3. Submit the form and any required documentation (bills, reports) directly to the insurance company as instructed in the brochure.
  4. School staff can assist with incident reports but does not process claims.

For emergencies or immediate medical needs, seek treatment first and file the claim afterward. This insurance is secondary to your primary health plan.
