Who We Are

  • The Manchester Preschool Center is the hub of the district’s early education programming for 3- and 4-year-olds. The Preschool Center is the home to Head Start, which is a federally funded program available to families that meet federal income guidelines. We have nine full-day Head Start classrooms serving 153 students. Additionally, the Preschool Center is home to two of the seven Early Childhood Education Program classrooms within the Manchester Public Schools, supporting approximately an additional 160 learners. The Early Childhood Education Program classrooms are funded by the Manchester Public Schools for the opportunity for special education students to learn alongside peers of the same age. This half day model has a 3-year-olds class in the morning and 4-year-olds in the afternoon. Other than the two classrooms at Manchester PreSchool Center, Buckley Elementary, Manchester High School and Keeney Elementary house the remaining five classrooms. The early learning experience in Manchester supports all students to develop their academics with a focus on social and emotional development through hands on, play based experiences.
