VETERANS DAY. Originally known as Armistice Day, it is observed each year on the 11th day of the 11th month because that’s when major hostilities came to an end of what we now know as World War 1 --- but was then thought to be “the war to end all wars.” A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good, Veteran’s Day in Manchester took different forms in different places and we have coverage in today’s newsletter.
